Details: Over 21 was founded in 1982 under a Program Development Fund grant from the Department of Developmental Services. We consider ourselves to be an extension of the special education system and are dedicated to providing continuing instruction in daily living skills and personal growth to all of our students. Community access and involvement is an integral part of our program philosophy. Although programming is provided at our facility locations in Oakland and Hayward, each student is afforded the opportunity to access the community. We have access to a number of community resources, public transportation and vocational training sites. Funding is provided through the Regional Center, however fund raising and donations is essential to our continued service.
