Social Day Services is a pre-vocational day program for individuals with developmental/ intellectual disabilities. SDS is an integrated program that provides Adult Day Program (ADP) as well as Behavior Day Program services. SDS program is centrally located in downtown San Leandro in close proximity to shopping centers, recreational parks, San Leandro Public Library, BART, restaurants and a variety of other places that allow easy access via public transportation for community integration. Our mission is to provide a lifetime of opportunity for consumers with developmental disabilities to live complete, meaningful and productive lives. |

This program is for individuals over the age of 18, are Regional Center of the East Bay clients with a case manager, who wish to partake in programming that is both on site and in the community. Participants should be motivated for volunteer, social, recreational, life, and community building skills sets. Stamina/movement development and daily exercises are strongly encouraged. Occasional paid work may be provided. |

The mission of Artful Steps is “to teach individuals, of every level of ability, methods for self-expression through the visual arts.†The goal of Artful Steps is to enhance not only the artistic abilities of the participants, but their self-esteem and independence as well. Artful Steps is dedicated to promoting the talent of our artists through organizing community-based events throughout the year. Since its inception the Artful Steps program has had exhibits in Oakland: at the Oakland City Hall and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission; in San Leandro: at the San Leandro Main Library’s art galleries and Sabino’s Café’: and Union City: at Paddy’s Coffee House and the Sports Center. Annually, since 2000, Artful Steps organizes a live art auction! More than half of the sale of the artwork goes to the artists themselves, with Stepping Stones’ share used to cover the cost of materials and framing. |
