Details: Life Steps Foundation’s Santa Maria Wisdom Center, based in the Central Coast location of Santa Maria, California, is the only licensed adult day health care program in the Santa Barbara/San Luis Obispo County area. The non-profit program fills a growing and vital need for the region’s senior population, especially for people who lack financial resources and require comprehensive day care while their families or caregivers are at work. Our Santa Maria Wisdom Center provides door-to-door transportation to and from the Center, on-site nursing care and medication management, physical and occupational therapy and rehabilitation, stimulating social and recreational activities, breakfast and a hot noon meal. Our aim is to prevent, delay and reduce the premature institutionalization of low income, frail elderly and aging adults with disabilities allowing them to remain in their natural supportive living environments as long as possible.
