Brooklyn Memory Center Adult Day Care
Website: http://www.brooklynmemorycenter.com/
Days Open: MON - SUN
Normal Business Hours: MON - FRI 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM / SAT - SUN 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Details: Adult Day Care (specifically Social Adult Day Care) provides seniors with needed care, socialization, and supervision in a community setting as well as provide caregivers respite from the demanding responsibilities of caregiving. As an alternative to long-term care, Social Adult Day Care allow seniors with diminishing physical, mental, and/or psychological capacity to maintain optimal independence so they can remain in their own homes or with loved ones and benefit from social interaction and stimulation throughout the day. Caregivers can have peace of mind knowing that their loved ones are in a safe and home-like environment during the day. Participants can relax, meet new people and are provided with health and social services, therapeutic activities, transportation, and meals. Daily activities are structured and include activities like discussion of current events, arts and crafts, exercise, games, meals, and snacks. Unlike traditional nursing homes, our attendees generally do not need medical attention during the day, but may need supervision for safety and activities of daily living. Our services are also not intended to serve the general senior population (senior centers are established for that purpose). Rather, we provide affordable “right sized care†that is accessible and appropriate to meet individual needs of the adult and their family.
