Details: United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Central California is dedicated to improving the quality of life for adults and children with a spectrum of disabilities including cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome and traumatic brain injury. The Center for Habilitation, Education, Enrichment and Recreational Services (CHEERS) is a collaborative partnership with West Hills Community College and various community-based partners. As an adult development center for adults with developmental disabilities, CHEERS endeavors to accomplish meaningful instruction and training to enhance the quality of life of individuals with developmental disabilities. CHEERS offers six areas of training and support including lifeskills, visual arts, sensory stimulation, education, technology, and vocational training. This is the first program of its kind to operate a community college campus (West Hills College) providing attendees with a naturalized, community-based experience.
