Details: LIFE SKILLS is a day program that specializes in the psychological support of developmentally disabled individuals who have behavior problems and/or mental health issues. Individuals with dual diagnosis may suffer from a variety of conditions such as paranoia, depression, psychosis anxiety, aggression and self destructive behavior. Coping with serious mental illness leaves many individualss with depleted self-esteem, and a feeling of little or no control of their lives. Confidence to take risks and replacing self defeating behaviors with winning achievements is expected of Life Skills graduates. Upon graduation, individuals may transition to a structured day program, community integration, or employment. A key outcome is to break the cycle of failure and prevent more restrictive programming.
