Listen to them tell their story: “We are proud that our site—Pace 1---is one of the first locations for Pace Solano (started as PACE in 1983)! It is fun to come to Pace 1 and to be with our friends, to get to know each other, to work and to learn. We want to show people that we can do many things---to see where we work and what skills we learn in the different classes. We want the entire community in Vallejo to know us and we want to learn more about the community. We want our friends and family to see what we do at Pace 1. Most of all, we want to be accepted for who we are. We don't want to change and be a different person. Pace 1 is a place where we can be ourselves, celebrate our lives, and show off all we do.†We invite you to come and see the program site. Our mission is lived out in the relationships with those who come to assist and share daytime activities and classes with people with developmental disabilities. Our team of instructors, teachers, and consultants all bring their gifts and talents to create our program at Pace 1. Join us and contribute to the future of our community and agency in bringing us together in diverse ways. Join us in expanding the path for individuals in our programs by increasing choice and variety of services and supports. Individuals attending our program have the opportunity to work, participate in a variety or classes including photography, cooking, health and safety, and yoga. Many individuals choose to enter Special Olympics and craft fairs and proudly bring back their awards. Through person-centered planning and goal setting we will assist in making your beginning at Pace 1 a successful one. |
