Loving Care Adult Day Health Care Center is an organized day program of therapeutic, social and health services for the frail elderly and other adults with physical or mental impairments. Adult Day Health Care, designed for physically and/or cognitively impaired adults, provides a structured day program which includes nursing, social services and restorative therapies, such as physical, occupational, and speech, meals and transportation, in a warm caring and secured environment. The program is individualized for each person based on the participant's plan of care. Independence, self-expression and being part of a group helps adults, isolated by illness, disability or loss, maintain a positive orientation of life. By focusing on the maintenance of physical and mental health, Adult Day Health Care enables the participants to maintain as high level of functioning as possible, thereby allowing them to remain in their homes and communities. Caring for a loved one with debilitating disorder requiring constant attention and supervision is exhausting. Using Adult Day Services allows the family caregiver time to work and provide support for their own family while still being able to care for their loved one at home, as long as medically, socially and economically possible. We are licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services and certified as Medi-Cal provider by the California Department of Aging. Neighborhood House Association’s Adult Day Services provides dual-day treatment program options to adults 18 years of age and older. The center offers both Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) services as well as Adult Day Program (ADP) services. ADHC is a medical-model program designed for adults with disabling physical, mental, cognitive or developmental impairments that provides nursing, rehabilitative therapies, nutrition and psycho-social services. ADP is a social-model program that focues on personal care assistance and provides cognitively stimulating activities. Transportation, lunch and recreational activities are offered to all participants regardless of program. |

At Silvercreek we are dedicated to providing the finest living conditions for our residents and to creating an atmosphere of care and feeling at home. Our program is designed to give attention, care, exercise and interaction to keep loved ones as active as possible. Our home is located in a quiet San Carlos neighborhood in the La Mesa area of San Diego. It includes a fenced back yard and a security system to control access, with a beautiful garden and flowers year round. Our newly renovated rooms are bright, airy and sparkling clean. Each room has just been redecorated with new colors and attention to providing comfort and safety. What sets Silvercreek apart is our experienced and trained staff. We have two people on duty 24 hours a day, including an awake night staff. We become family by providing a lifestyle of comfort and recreation. Residents join the staff in the patio every week to watch BarBQing for familiar California cooking. We make birthdays into lunchtime celebrations for our residents. There are parties to bring family members together with the residents in the summer and winter annually. We care about each resident and give everyday assistance needed for daily living, including bathing and laundry service. From 7:30am to 6:00pm, St. Paul’s Senior Day Program cares for the whole person: socially, physically, mentally and spiritually. Our senior day adult day environment is structured specifically for seniors with mild to moderate memory loss. Our adult day care activities and services are ideal for seniors who are looking for a social and relaxing setting. The program is designed to reduce isolation, offer support and respite to families with care-giving responsibilities, to foster a healthy outlook on life for the senior, and to bring together seniors and children from our childcare program a few times everyday. Socialization is a key focus and Participants interact with peers through a variety of activities including group discussions, planned outings, exercise and mental stimulation. Our respite care services are affordable and our flexible program is set-up for busy caregivers. We also have monthly support group meetings for our caregivers at St. Paul's Villa and a scholarship program (for a limited amount of Participants that are low-income) through a grant from Aging and Independent Services. |

Special Care Services (SCS) is designed to meet the needs of individuals between the ages of 5 and 25, diagnosed with intellectual and developmental delays and many have an autism diagnosis. Most are ineligible for services in other settings such as Prime Time, YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, etc. SCS emphasizes community-based instruction, behavioral support and socialization training. Activities include field trips, computer lab, adaptive sports & play, music and dance, bike riding and an equestrian program. SCS is licensed by the Department of Social Services. |

For more than thirty years our centers (formerly known as the George G. Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Centers, Inc.) have provided individualized high-quality day programs in a family-like setting for adults affected by Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of memory impairment. Many of the participants in our centers include the frail elderly as well as veterans. Our highly-trained and long-term staff at the Glenner centers ensures that the daily life of each participant is enhanced through structured, therapeutic activities, nutritional meals, and socialization which have been shown to possibly delay cognitive decline and increase contentment. Our secure centers and our high staff to participant ratio offer the ability to keep a loved one at home for a longer period of time or provide a meaningful transition of care. A primary focus of our mission is to provide support and resources for the caregiver. Adult day programs offer the caregiver respite, the ability to continue working, and reduced financial obligation. The Arc of San Diego supports and empowers persons with disabilities to achieve their life goals. North Shores Vocational Center currently serves 107 consumers in our Day Programs and 97 in our Production Center. While our Day Program shares a lot of the activities offered at other centers, such as art (complete with a volunteer artist!), gardening, computer labs, music and much more, we excel when it comes to preparing social events and feasts! We host several barbeques each year, including our Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day BBQs which are outstanding, and our Thanksgiving feast is unparalleled! This is primarily due to the ethnic diversity found at the center. Foods from Vietnam, Mexico, Africa, Philippines and India are blended with traditional turkeys, hams and all the fixings. Another asset is our updated facilities and landscaping. Rebuilding Together San Diego, a local nonprofit, teamed up with North Shores Vocational Center and Cricket Communications, Inc., to build a new commercial kitchen complete with new appliances, newly painted walls and improved xeriscape landscaping that supports the conservation of water while enhancing the beauty of our location.
