Mainstream services both ambulatory and non-ambulatory clients with moderate to severe developmental disabilities. We believe that each client is a unique individual with Unique personal interests, aptitudes and skills. Mainstream emphasizes developing self help skills, social skills, and daily living skills for each individual client. Our program includes staff working with clients on daily socialization within the work site and the community. Our clients participate in artistic exploration, music appreciation, skill building exercises and sessions of exercise including endurance and mobility to improve circulation and to promote a healthy life style. The Activity Center (AC) of Mainstream and the Adult Developmental Center (ADC) provides a day program for adults 18 years of age and older. The AC Program and the ADC program both work to benefit each program participant by providing program choice, improved quality of life, community integration, freedom and choice of activity. Each participant has the opportunity to engage and interact in age-appropriate activities which will occur in natural environments. |

New Day Behavior opened as a Community Based Program for Developmentally Disabled Adults in 1997 with 18 participants and only 3 vans. 15 years later the program has grown to serve over 80 consumers through the use of 18 vans. In 2005 New Day Behavior received a license to open a Center Base Component that gives the opportunity to better fulfill participants with specific needs. Recently the program has revived the opportunity for volunteer work. New Day is funded by the following Regional Centers, San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center, Inland Regional Center, East Los Angeles Regional Center, Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center, North Los Angeles Regional Center and Westside Regional Center. |
