Therapeutic Arts Program (TAP II) in Gardena, California, has been a mainstay of the South Bay since 1989. TAP II emphasizes students’ strengths and accomplishments, creating an environment that encourages success and provides opportunities for greater independence and fulfillment. The Senior Citizens Day Care Center helps to improve the quality of life of participants by preventing premature or inappropriate institutionalization. The center provides supportive socialization and rehabilitation programs for older adults who are experiencing memory loss, dementia, or Alzheimer's disease. Respite and support services to caregivers and family members are also provided. Eligible individuals include the frail, disabled, memory-impaired, post-stroke or homebound. Donations are based on a sliding scale. Transporation is available for residents of Gardena. |
