Chateau d’ Bakersfield is an Adult Day Health Care and Community Integration Program (18 & over) providing Independent Living Skills Training, Mental Wellness Groups, Medical Monitoring, Physical Therapy maintenance, Occupational Therapy Maintenance, psychological assessments and treatment, medical social services, speech therapy and nutritional screening planning to Individuals with special needs. New Advances for People with Disabilities is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) California corporation. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors drawn from our business community. The primary purpose of the N.A.P.D., Transportation Breakfast Club is to provide a safe, comfortable, and stimulating environment where adults with developmental disabilities can gather prior to transportation to a day program. The primary goal of the program is to provide a safe transition location for adults to interact, complete morning activities, socialize, and fill a need for early morning supervision due to parental work obligations and/or transportation connection difficulties. The N.A.P.D. T.B.C. offers activities before the day program to adults with developmental disabilities in a variety of areas related to leisure activities and socialization. It also provides supervised activities where adults with developmental disabilities can interact appropriately with other people of varying backgrounds and ages. The T.B.C. staff will work cooperatively with clients and parents or care providers to ensure satisfaction for each participant. Clientele will be encouraged to participate in an activity of their choice while waiting for transportation to their day program. |
