The center feels like a club or social gathering place; participants enjoy community and private spaces, gardens, music, exercise, fun, and innovative programs. Offering choices throughout the day reinforces the dignity of each individual and allows them to fully participate in creating their own experiences. The result – improved health, positive self-esteem, enhanced memory – mean happiness and independence. Lucy Anne’s Place is the first adult day center in Arizona to feature an optional intergenerational program. Created with purpose, fun and structure, the program promotes interaction between Lucy Anne’s adult participants and children enrolled in Wirtzie’s Preschool and Child Care. Maximizing independence begins with a plan and setting goals. Professional oversight and personal desire create a winning combination for participants recovering from stroke or injury requiring physical therapy. These are the goals of Sun City Restorative Care. The Benevilla Restorative Care Program: Promotes activity, mobility and independence; Increases muscle strength and balance; Enhances confidence and self-esteem; Focuses on preventing deterioration wherever possible. The physical challenges of stroke, injury, extended hospital stays, or other long-term care needs that require physical therapy also challenge personal independence. The focus of restorative care is on each person’s potential rather than on a diagnosis or limitations. By creating a team approach of personalized, short-term, and achievable goals, participants are encouraged to reach and maintain their highest level of function. A registered nurse provides medical oversight. Benevilla professionals partner with personal physicians and licensed physical therapists to tailor a wellness plan for each participating individual, setting appropriate goals for progress. Restorative aides provide participants with support and assistance with a dedicated routine of daily exercises designed to enhance their regular physical therapy sessions. Exercises are performed one-on-one or in small groups to continue honing strength and abilities. Specialty groups are dedicated to balance, stretching, safety awareness, strengthening, and fall prevention. Since 1985, Benevilla’s Sun City Restorative Care has successfully served the needs of people with various health-related issues.

Oakwood Creative Care - Town Center Day Club
247 North MacDonald
Mesa AZ 85201
(480) 464-1061
Oakwood Creative Care was organized as Sirrine Adult Day Care of Mesa, Inc., in 1975 by a group of concerned citizens who recognized a need in the community to provide a safe, nurturing day environment for adults, age 55 and older, facing physical and/or mental challenges of daily living and unable to remain alone at home. Founders envisioned a program that would help seniors remain in the community as long as possible, provide an alternative to costly in-home and institutional care, and support the seniors’ family through the transitions brought about by failing health and decline. Recognizing a need for formal organizational structure, we were incorporated and granted nonprofit status by the Internal Revenue Service in 1987. At the same time, we were licensed by the Arizona Department of Health as a health facility serving persons with the diagnosis of dementia, Parkinson's, strokes, disabilities, or whatever the situation may be. The corporate name was changed to Oakwood Creative Care in early 2013 in response to a need to develop an identity that is easily remembered and better expresses our mission. Our goal is to support our community to age gracefully and to truly enjoy the golden years. We are changing the way adult day health care is done. We are a part of the community, the community is part of us, and we know that each of our participants have something to contribute.
