Activities and the environment are customized in our program for the needs of persons with dementia. The Meeting Place is an adult day program that provides services for seniors who may need a little help throughout the day. We are committed to providing a home-like atmosphere which promotes a sense of purpose, hope, and community. Our facility is in a beautiful historic building in downtown Newport, Vermont. We have handicap accessible bathrooms and a shower. There is a commercially licensed kitchen, living room, quiet room, art room and music room. A day at our house is filled with activities. Music, gardening, games and light exercise are just a few of them. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are served in the community room where tables can also be used for games and other group activities. The fireplace room includes a TV where clients can watch their favorite programs. The arts and crafts room is stocked with materials for special projects throughout the week. Even the kitchen serves as an activity center where clients can volunteer to bake a batch of cookies for their friends or loved ones. For those who enjoy animals, we occasionally have a pet dog, cat, or bird. |
