Centra is proud to offer an exciting new service to the community. This model of healthcare has been in existence for over 30 years throughout the United States. The program focus is on prevention, wellness and the belief that it is better for seniors with chronic care needs and their families to be served in the community whenever possible. In Virginia, the first PACE Center was opened in 2007. Centra PACE is the 5th program in Virginia and is located in a newly remodeled building at 407 Federal Street in downtown Lynchburg. PACE is a comprehensive program for adults 55 years of age and older who meet the criteria for nursing facility placement, prefer to stay at home and have an assessment indicating that living at home with the support of the PACE program is a safe alternative.
