Details (Max 1000 characters):: You may want to keep your family member and/or loved one at home and as part of the community for as long as possible, but the time may come when that option is no longer possible. When loved ones have dementia, Alzheimerâ€™s, developmental disabilities and other impairments, they may need attention and supervision with personal hygiene, eating and other activities of daily living, as well as with medication administration and social stimulation. JFK Adult Medical Day Program is an excellent solution. The Adult Medical Day Program enhances clientsâ€™ quality of life and helps them avoid or postpone placement in a long term care facility. The JFK Adult Medical Day Program is affiliated with JFK Health System. The center is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services and is a member of the New Jersey Adult Day Care Association. The program has two tracks: The Medical Program is for clients who may be unable to stay home alone due to medication needs and/or physical limitations. The Alzheimerâ€™s/Dementia Program also accepts clients with developmental disabilities and clients who are incontinent. Each program has its own highly skilled staff, and participants enjoy separate activities tailored to their needs. Twice monthly, children from an on-site daycare center visit as part of an intergenerational program. Individuals in both the dementia and medical programs remain under the care of their personal physician, and our staff works closely with private physicians to monitor patientsâ€™ medical needs.
