Details (Max 1000 characters):: Emmanuel Ridge Senior Day Center is a planned program of activities designed to promote well being through social and health related services. The origin of managing senior citizens goes back to the year 1917, in US hospitals. In 1997, the National Adult Day Services Association and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities worked together to establish an accreditation process for Adult Day Services. As of today, 46 states regulates Adult Day Health Services in which 39% are licensed, 22% are certified, 17% are both licensed and certified agencies, and 22% are states reported other methods or regulating. There are, currently, approximately 4,000 Senior Day Centers nationwide, according to the National Adult Day Services Association (NADSA). The proliferation of centers over the past two decades corresponds to the "mushrooming demand for home and community based services" to meet the needs of a rapidly escalating elder population.
