Currently, there are 4,000 Adult Day Centers in the country, and Rockford is fortunate to have one of the first in the country. Our program, which began in 1973, has the distinction of being one of the first adult day programs in Illinois.Brightside Adult Day Service provides safe, therapeutic daytime care for seniors as well as persons with disabilities under the age of 60. The goal is to promote a community based program designed to meet the needs of functionally impaired adults in a structured, comprehensive program providing health and social services in addition to therapeutic activities. Brightside's service allows caregivers to continue with employment and daily living routines while their loved ones thrive in a stimulating, caring environment designed to provide multiple opportunities for socialization and remotivation therapy. Brightside also understands the importance of supporting caregivers as they go about their important task. We offer Caregiver Wellness classes and support groups to help them maintain their mental and physical health.
