Details (Max 1000 characters):: For 104 years, Blind and Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh has empowered people who are blind, deaf blind or vision impaired to become independent. Our mission is to change the lives of persons with vision loss and other disabilities by fostering independence and individual choice. Senior Transition Program - This older adult daily living center serves persons with a variety of disabilities who are age 50 years and older. In this structured day program, individuals enjoy a variety of age-appropriate activities including cooking, community outings, and leisure time pursuits such as card and board games. Every month individuals bake and sell specialty breads to BVRS staff. At the end of the year, the proceeds are used to buy Christmas gifts for local families in need. This program is licensed by the Pennsylvania Office of Long Term Living through the Department of Aging.
