Details (Max 1000 characters):: WISE & Healthy Aging, a nonprofit social services organization, is the result of a merger in November 2007 of WISE Senior Serivices and Center for Healthy Aging (formerly Senior Health & Peer Counseling). For more than 20 years, the Adult Day Service Center has been there to help. WISE & Healthy Aging's Adult Day Service Center is the only state-designated Alzheimer's Day Care Resource Center on the Los Angeles Westside. Our compassionate, professional staff is trained to work with those with physical or cognitive impairments and a plan of care is tailored to the needs of each client. Over the past two years, two members of the Centerâ€™s staff were honored by the Alzheimerâ€™s Association at the Jim Segal Award luncheon for their passion and commitment to Adult Day Services. Day services can be an excellent solution for both caregiver and loved one. A recent study showed that 87 to 96% of day care clients have either improved or maintained their function, helping to keep them out of the hospital or nursing facility. Families report that many clients of day care are more alert and more social, have lower rates of depression and improved sleeping patterns, and demonstrate improved physical ability.
