Details: Day Programs provide structured activity and enrichment for adults with developmental disabilities. Our goal is to assist consumers in reaching their maximum potential as functioning members of their community. Participants engage in a wide variety of center-based activities from meal preparation to dance classes to gardening, as well as in activities throughout the community, including paid and volunteer employment. Programs may also provide specialized training in alternative/augmentative communication, orientation/mobility, sensory development, personal safety, self-advocacy and alternative behavior strategies. Because Day Programs are centered around an individual’s interests, Program Specialists hold intake meetings with each consumer to get to know the person’s interests, hobbies and personality.
