Details: The Valley’s first and longest operating Adult Day Service offers a healthy, safe, and supervised setting in which frail adults and adults with Alzheimers Disease or Related Disorders (ADRD), Developmental Disabilities, and/or brain injuries may partake in structured social, recreational, and therapeutic activities while providing support, information, and respite to their caregivers. An assessment to determine the appropriateness of the Program for the client is completed by an ADS nurse. Subsequently, a Plan of Service with input from the client, caregivers and family members is developed to include socialization, exercise, health monitoring and nutrition activities. A dedicated, caring staff is responsible for carrying out the centers program, but volunteers play an invaluable role in the maintenance of a quality program. They are involved in group activities and are vital in providing one-on-one attention.
