Details: The Adult Habilitation Center is a center-based program of Dickinson Center, Inc. We are a dual licensed facility. The AHC is licensed by the PA Dept. of Welfare's Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) as an Adult Training Facility (ATF) and is licensed by the Office of Aging as an Older Adult Daily Living Center. The main focus of our program is to work with the individuals to assist them on becoming as independent and self-sufficient as possible. We offer a broad spectrum of techniques in order to support the consumers and assist them with gaining the knowledge to function in their own life situations. These supports are necessary to help promote and maintain the development, education, interests and personal well being of an individual with developmental disabilities. Each person who attends has an ISP (Individual Support Plan) developed specifically for them based on their own desires, wants and needs. The AHC provides group and 1:1 activities daily. A typical day consists of 4 planned activities. There is built-in time for breaks and lunch as well as time spans developed for "free" time to offerthose in attendance the ability to spend time exploring theirown areas of interest.
