The mission of Friendship Corner at St. Catherine’s is to provide older adults with an alternative to nursing home placement and help caregivers maintain a higher quality of life by offering a breather from their often demanding responsibilities. Friendship Corner allows caregivers to: Continue to work away from the home; Have “down time†from care giving responsibilities; Obtain appropriate and cost effective assistance with their loved one’s physical care needs; Prevent premature nursing home placement; Provide opportunities for their aging loved ones to socialize with other older adults, helping to prevent social isolation. |
