Augustana Open Circle of Heritage Park is honored to be part of the first public housing community in the country to offer housing and services to older adults with low incomes. Augustana Open Circle of Heritage Park is part of the Heritage Park Senior Services campus, developed by the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority (MPHA). The campus gathers the services needed most by older people under one roof. Partners include the MPHA, the Courage Center, Neighborhood HealthSource, the Minneapolis Highrise Representative Council and the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities.The professional staff at Augustana Open Circle helps provide respite and peace of mind to families and caregivers when they feel overwhelmed by responsibilities. Monroe Village Senior Apartments is a new senior building in the close-knit northeast neighborhood on 19th and Central Avenue. It consists of 51 units located in a 4-story building, which also features underground heated parking and elevator service. There are a variety of apartment sizes including one bedroom, one bedroom with den, and two bedrooms. Each apartment has its own washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave oven, refrigerator and range. Units also have individually controlled heating and cooling systems.

Our Mission is to promote and deliver services that respect and respond to ethnic, cultural, and individual differences by developing and providing long term care service to the needs of physically challenged and elderly people. The Volunteers of America Hmong DayElders program provides care and a variety of activities to Hmong seniors, age 55 and older, that typically have limitations of mobility, stamina and/or cognitive functioning. Our program offers a safe, culturally appropriate environment to support the physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of these older adults. Participants may attend the Hmong DayElders program from one to five days a week, Monday through Friday, depending on their needs. Each participant has an individual care plan and the bilingual staff work closely with each participant’s caregivers to provide high quality care.

Since 1995, Mount Olivet Day Services adult program has served hundreds of adults seeking therapeutic activity, socialization, health monitoring, and educational enrichment. Licensed by the Department of Human Services for 35 adults per day, we serve primarily seniors and others ages 18 and older. The adult program is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Daily participation can vary but a consistent schedule is preferred. Transportation can be arranged through our van service or Metro Mobility. Each day a hearty noon meal and several snacks are served. Special diets are available. In addition to daily intergenerational activities, there are many opportunities for creative, intellectual, and physical development. Our days are filled with exercise, music, discussions, craft projects, baking activities, entertainment, spiritual services, and pet visits, as well as frequent excursions throughout the metro area. Participants are involved in the development of the activity calendar. Hair and beauty shop services can be arranged, as well as whirlpool bathing, with assistance from an experienced bath aide. Assistance with other personal cares is also available. Health monitoring and medication assistance is provided, both by a trained medication aide and registered nurse. Financial assistance for those who qualify is available from Hennepin County and the Veteran’s Administration.

Interact’s work is driven by a vision of radical inclusion. We collaborate with artists with and without disabilities, from mainstream and marginalized communities, whose stories and life experiences are the grist for our original, ensemble-generated theatrical work, and inspire the spectrum of media that are created in our studio. Interact was the first – and remains the only –visual and performing arts organization for artists with disabilities, nationally or internationally, that is creating full-time at the professional level, and sharing exciting seasons of performances and exhibitions with our audiences.
