Since 1983, ALSM has been providing community support services. These services are provided through the adult day program known now as the Senior Daily Living Center and with quality in home care through ALSM at Home and ALSM at Home Health Care. ALSM at Home provides a "helping hand" with personal care and companion services. ALSM at Home Health Care provides in-home skilled nursing care and therapy services. Our Senior Daily Living Centers are licensed by the Department of Aging. Formerly Adult Day Activities Program, SDLC has been in Blair County since 1983. Our Senior Daily Living Centers are funded in part by Blair Senior Services, the Area Agency of Aging of Somerset County, and the Centre County Office of Aging. Our centers provide adult day services to offer a safe, comfortable and secure daytime “home away from home†for senior adults whose caregivers must work or tend to other responsibilities. The program and team members focus on the physical, cognitive and spiritual well-being of each person. Generations together, the Altoona center is unique in that it is in the same building as the Growing Years Early Learning Center , allowing for intergenerational activities with children and seniors. The many activities offer your loved one physical and cognitive stimulation and socialization on a regular basis. We have a variety of fun and engaging programs and events, including holiday parties, birthday celebrations, open houses and more. The centers offers a variety of services to meet the needs of your loved one. We often offer a trial visits. This provides an opportunity to introduce your loved one to the participants and team members, allows him or her to participate in the many therapeutic and fun activities and see if the program is right for them. This also gives the team members an opportunity to evaluate the needs of your loved one and how we can meet those needs. |
