Established in 1993, the Lauderdale Lakes Alzheimer Care Center provides a program of therapeutic activities for cognitively impaired adults in a reassuring environment focused on safety, supervision and support. Clients are creatively challenged to maximize their intact intellectual and motor skills through individual and group activities. The maintenance of dignity, promotion of self-esteem, reduction of anxiety and preservation of existing skill levels are some of the center's primary goals. The center is funded in part by the City of Lauderdale Lakes, the Lakes Alzheimer's Foundation, Broward County Area Wide Council on Aging, public grants and private donations. The center provides services for eligible residents throughout Broward County.
