The Arc of Hilo provides a well-balanced day at our Adult Day Health Programs in Hilo and Pahoa. We offer an array of activities at our centers that are tailored to the individual needs of our participants. Our goal is to support our participants learning and/or receive training in order to live at his or her highest level of independence. |

Ho’olana Program supports Medicaid Waiver eligible individuals with an intellectual disability. The day program provides a person centered approach while in a group setting. Participants can choose their own goals based on what they want to learn and how they want to succeed in life. They are encouraged to participate in volunteering, self-advocacy, and community integration. |

Hawaii Island Adult Care (HIAC) is a 501c3 Non-Profit organization that has served East Hawaii community since 1976. HIAC's purpose is to provide community based care for the daily life needs of frail elders, Alzheimer's patients, and physically or mentally challenged individuals, thus giving them the opportunity to remain living in their own homes, providing dignity and self-worth, and helping them maintain their independence as much as possible in the community. Preventing premature institutionalization into long-term care and providing much needed respite for caregivers and the opportunity to continue employment are among the HIAC goals for the community. Hilo Adult Day Center offers a home-like, safe and supportive daytime environment for seniors and younger adults who are physically and/or mentally challenged and for persons with Alzheimer's disease. Located just below Rainbow Falls on Rainbow Drive in a quiet Banyan tree lane setting, this life-enhancing program serves as a cost-effective, community based alternative to nursing home care or premature institutionalization. Hilo Adult Day Center's philosophy is based on a deep commitment to health and human care. |
