Home Nursing Agency’s ACEL Program (Adult Center for Exceptional Learning) provides a safe environment during the day for adults with cognitive and physical disabilities. Part of ACEL’s mission – and the mission of Home Nursing Agency – is to offer a broad range of health and human services that improve the quality of life and enable people to remain in their homes and communities. At ACEL, the definition of ‘support’ entails much more than the physical help required – it involves our staff connecting, on an emotional level, with each individual and their family. ACEL provides in-home services as well as one-on-one center-based assistance. Often referred to as the ‘The ACEL Family’, our staff customizes a care plan to meet the needs of each individual and requests of his or her family. Whether it is assisting with daily living activities in the home, offering companionship through engaging community activities, or providing respite for families, ACEL can accommodate a variety of requests and even provide transportation. |

SeniorCARE Altoona offers a structured program of social, recreational, and health-related activities to residents of Blair County, Pennsylvania, coordinated by an interdisciplinary team of caring professionals. This program provides a safe, comfortable, and friendly environment for older adults. This program's adult day care center services make it ideal for elderly people who cannot be left alone during the day, yet do not require 24-hour care, those who may suffer from Alzheimer's disease or other dementia disorders, those who are physically impaired, those who feel unsafe being alone at home, or those who are socially isolated. Since 1983, ALSM has been providing community support services. These services are provided through the adult day program known now as the Senior Daily Living Center and with quality in home care through ALSM at Home and ALSM at Home Health Care. ALSM at Home provides a "helping hand" with personal care and companion services. ALSM at Home Health Care provides in-home skilled nursing care and therapy services. Senior Daily Living Centers - Our centers provide adult day services to offer a safe, comfortable and secure daytime “home away from home†for senior adults whose caregivers must work or tend to other responsibilities. The program and team members focus on the physical, cognitive and spiritual well-being of each person. Generations together, the Altoona center is unique in that it is in the same building as the Growing Years Early Learning Center , allowing for intergenerational activities with children and seniors. The many activities offer your loved one physical and cognitive stimulation and socialization on a regular basis. We have a variety of fun and engaging programs and events, including holiday parties, birthday celebrations, open houses and more. The centers offers a variety of services to meet the needs of your loved one. We often offer a trial visits. This provides an opportunity to introduce your loved one to the participants and team members, allows him or her to participate in the many therapeutic and fun activities and see if the program is right for them. This also gives the team members an opportunity to evaluate the needs of your loved one and how we can meet those needs. |
