Living with or caring for persons with memory loss can be especially difficult. It can affect you physically, emotionally, and financially. Our VNA Dementia Care Day Program at Grand Way specializes in caring for persons with memory loss. Our program is modeled after our successful adult day programs that provide social activities, healthy meals, and opportunities to meet new friends in a safe and homelike environment with nursing oversight. Activities and the environment are customized in our program for the needs of persons with dementia. Contrasting colors on the walls and floors, bright open spaces, and multi-course meals are all part of a specially designed therapeutic environment that supports the need for independence and meaningful activity.

The Gifford Adult Day Program is conveniently located below Gifford’s Bethel Health Center and beside the Rite Aid pharmacy on Route 107 in Bethel. Founded in 1999, it got its start at the Menig Extended Care Facility, Gifford’s nursing home. It moved to its own dedicated space in Bethel in 2005.

CarePartners Adult Day Center, Inc. was established in 1993 to provide adults with dementia and/or physical impairment(s) and their family caregivers an alternative to nursing home care. Our non-profit, adult day program provides a warm, safe and fun place for frail adults to spend the day, while their families go to work, run errands or take a break from caregiving responsibilities. Transportation to our center is available throughout Franklin and northern Grand Isle Counties. CarePartners is a Vermont certified adult day program, in addition to being a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) approved adult day health center. CarePartners believes that each participant is a unique individual with strengths and weaknesses. We recognize and encourage the individual strengths of participants, while providing supports for their limitations. In addition, we believe everyone has the potential for growth and development.

For many family members with seniors or disabled adults over the age of 18 who face the challenge of losing their independence, Springfield Area Adult Day Service is an alternative to residential care. We provide physically- or cognitively-impaired adults with a structured program of social activities and needed healthcare, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Adult Day Service is a planned program that includes a variety of health, social and supportive services in a safe, protective environment. Sponsored by Springfield Hospital, Adult Day Service is a community-based service designed to meet each individual's needs. Our staff is trained to meet special needs of all our participants, including those with Alzheimer's, ambulatory restrictions, confusion, dementia, frailty, incontinence, Parkinson's, strokes and heart attack, or who may be socially isolated.

The Meeting Place is an adult day program that provides services for seniors who may need a little help throughout the day. We are committed to providing a home-like atmosphere which promotes a sense of purpose, hope, and community. Our facility is in a beautiful historic building in downtown Newport, Vermont. We have handicap accessible bathrooms and a shower. There is a commercially licensed kitchen, living room, quiet room, art room and music room. A day at our house is filled with activities. Music, gardening, games and light exercise are just a few of them. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are served in the community room where tables can also be used for games and other group activities. The fireplace room includes a TV where clients can watch their favorite programs. The arts and crafts room is stocked with materials for special projects throughout the week. Even the kitchen serves as an activity center where clients can volunteer to bake a batch of cookies for their friends or loved ones. For those who enjoy animals, we occasionally have a pet dog, cat, or bird.

Our VNA Adult Day Program is a great option for seniors and adults who have a desire to continue living independently, but who may need assistance or help with daily activities. Our programs also provide valuable respite and support to family caregivers. Social and recreational activities are combined with nursing assessments, medication administration, therapeutic services, and appropriate levels of exercise. Healthy snacks and hot meals are also served, providing 70% of the daily nutritional requirements.
