Details: Peaches-Na-Basket Adult Day Care, Inc. was conceptualized and implemented in 1993. The Executive Director is a Nursing Home administrator with over 20 years of experience. The administration originally recognized the need for a community based alternative to institutionalization, for not only is institutionalization expensive, it is often not in the best interest of its consumers. The facility was created to be a place where the aged and disabled would receive social services, health care, and hot nutritious meals, while being able to participate in daily activities and fellowship. Further, Peaches-Na-Basket was developed to provide education, outreach, and respite care for overworked caregivers. Peaches-Na-Basket provides adult day health care services six days a week in therapeutic and social programs for persons with chronic mental and physical impairments such as post-stroke, cardiovascular conditions, social isolation and dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.
