Adult Day Care Centers are open to Hillsborough County residents ages 60 and over who are experiencing a decrease in physical, mental, or social functioning. Appropriate diagnoses may include physical problems or Alzheimer's disease-related dementias. Adult Day Care is particularly appropriate for families whose loved ones wish to remain at home as long as possible, but struggle with providing care. Adult Day Care allows individuals to maintain or improve abilities in a supervised, structured environment to reduce isolation, enhance self-esteem, and maximize an individual's potential. Hillsborough County's Adult Day Care Program is licensed by the State of Florida Agency of Health Care Administration; and has served County residents since Oct. 1, 1976. Funding is available under Title III of the Older Americans Act through the Senior Connection Center, Inc., State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs, Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, and participants' contributions. |

The Family Enrichment Center, Inc. (FEC) is a private, faith-based, not-for-profit child-placing agency founded by the College Hill Church of God in Christ in 1992. Over the years, the agency has had a considerable impact on the lives of economically disadvantaged and minority families who may otherwise feel threatened by larger public agencies. Initially created in response to a critical shortage of African American foster homes, the Family Enrichment Center provides the community with a family-centered, friendly, compassionate, neighborhood-based alternative to public and traditional social services. As the only licensed minority-owned and operated child-placing agency in the southeastern United States, FEC provides care for approximately 250-350 children on a monthly basis. Through public-private partnerships, the agency has been able to maximize the utilization of limited resources, while maintaining high levels of professionalism and quality services. An important mission of the agency is to be as responsive as possible to vulnerable children and families to ensure parents have the support they need to help provide their children with the quality of life they deserve. |

Chapters Health PACE, a complete healthcare solution that provides a continuum of care to participants at home and at the proposed 11,330 square-foot PACE Center, located at 5102 W. Linebaugh Avenue in Hillsborough County. Chapters Health has been authorized to become a provider of PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) services in Hillsborough, Polk, Highlands and Hardee counties. Chapters Health is completing the application process to serve the residents of Hillsborough County and anticipates enrolling participants in September 2011. Chapters Health is planning to expand PACE services to Polk County in the summer of 2012. |
