Pathway to Opportunities: Providing and fostering independence, through supportive educational services, adult day services, and supportive services for people with cognitive and/or physical challenges – and their families. Pathway to Opportunities (PTO) is designed as a welcoming place to learn, make lasting friendships and enjoy a sense of community that makes learning fun, safe and productive. The facility is equipped with a sensory room, kitchen, personal care areas, recreation room, and outdoor social/sports area. Learning happens “on location†whether that is at an individual’s residence or in the larger community. Pathway to Opportunities thrives on teaching independence through transitional learning and hands on experiences. Participants will enjoy selecting courses and activities from a constantly changing schedule of opportunities. Course topics might focus on such things as exercise, meal planning, interpersonal relationships, social skills, reading & writing, protecting ones rights, and mastering public transportation. Activities evolve depending on the season and the interests of individuals, but may include a swimming club, music appreciation, rock climbing, baseball games, movie nights and holiday parties. |
