Adult Life Programs is a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) that began in 1983 in a Sunday school classroom at Corinth Church in Hickory, North Carolina. Much has changed over the years, but Adult Life Programs’ Board of Directors has remained committed to the mission: To provide support, respite and education to caregivers and affordable, quality day and treatment services enabling adults to remain in their communities. Adult Life Programs Lenoir Center provides a safe, loving, fun environment. Participants enjoy frequent visits from the church’s preschool children, community outings, crafts and the opportunity to use present skills and learn new ones. The Adult Life Programs Lenoir Center enjoys a great deal of community support and regular volunteers who come to visit, lead worship, singing, pet therapy, crafts and exercise, among other activities. In addition, the Lenoir Center hosts a monthly caregiver support group giving caregivers the opportunity to share with and enjoy one another. |
